NEW FRIENDS

It's  funny, when I meet someone new and I hang out with them. ...Hhmm..
What I'm saying is, whenever I am making a new friend or interacting with a new person, I feel ... I really really feel so lucky and blessed .

Making new  friends has always been  fun but turning new friends into good friends is a real blessing.
You can never be thankful enough for these 'blessings'.

There are countless people that we meet in our lives. But only a very rare few will make a lasting impression on our minds and hearts.
It is these people that we will think of often and who will always remain Important to us .

It's a wonderful thing to have even just one good friend in your life.
I'm very fortunate to have a couple of really  'out of this world' friends.

Initally shy Patches

In her playful mood

Patches would 'kiss' for a piece of fruit

THE HERB GARDEN

Herbal gardening is wonderful  because not only they are a delight to the eyes they also gave out super aromas.
Importantly,  it's something we all enjoy doing.
Pat was no exception.

I’m sure there’s nothing more satisfying after spending hours of backbreaking manual labor wrestling with uncooperative weather to see the final result.
Having that limited space, she couldn't have gotten a better one.

However I’m also astute enough to know that a successful garden will take time, dedication and commitment.

BUT.. the bottom line is.... her garden is now ready.

A delight to the eyes.

AND..think of the satisfaction she’ll get looking out from that window knowing that most of what is growing there was grown by herself.
Happy gardening Pat !

The Ugliest Dog Contest

I went online and saw this ugly dog picture on the screen of MSN. Apparently the new ugliest dog winner had been crowned and it's still 'hot' on the news.
As an animal lover, I just can't help but ask myself... can I love an 'ugly' dog  such as that?
The defination of 'ugly' may differ from one person to another,  just as with 'beauty' on beauty contests.

I have never in reality seen a really really ugly dog that I don't somehow find cute. ( ..???)
It has always been ... ugly/cute...adorable/ugly.. that kind of feeling if ever there was a defination for them.
Nothing really that I can't stand the sight of.......so far
But these dogs ..errrrr....emmm.... hhnnnnn ... I'm lost for words.

Maybe it goes with the malay saying ,  tak kenal maka tak cinta...
I'm pretty sure each dogs have their own winning personality judging from how much they are loved by their owners despite of their appearance.
They are afterall creatures of  the Almighty, brought into this world  as with us humans, without the option to choose .
I don't think  anybody wants to be ugly...that goes for animals too I'm quite sure.

As I felt relief with the thought of how fortunate they are, I can't help but felt a little sadness of the ones that didn't get the chance in life because of the same 'curse'.

I compulate these facts plus photographs  from online source.
*********
The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest is an annual competition that crowns one dog as the Ugliest Dog in the World. Initially started as a spoof of traditional dog shows, the World’s Ugliest Dog Contest has become a very popular event to the point where the Animal Planet Network covered it for television.
The World’s Ugliest Dog Contest takes place at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair in Petaluma, California. Winners are chosen from both the Pedigree class and the Mutt class. Those winners then compete against each other to become that year’s Ugly Dog winner. Upon winning that stage, the winner goes on to the Ring of Champions competition where he/she goes up against the past winners to determine the official World’s Ugliest Dog. Current prize winnings are $500 for the Ugly Dog winner and $1000 for World’s Ugliest Dog. 2008 marked the 20th year that event has taken place.
While the Sonoma-Marin Ugly Dog Contest is considered the official and most prestigious event, many more ugly dog contests have popped up over the years across the country, most notably the Del Mar, CA, Ugliest Dog Competition, which has a 14-year history.

'Yoda' selected 2011 Ugly Dog Contest winner

Yoda, a previously abandoned 14-year old Chinese Crested/chihuahua mix with a malformed nose, "short tufts of hair, protruding tongue, and long, seemingly hairless legs," won the 2011 contest.

An odd-looking chihuahua called Princess Abby has won the dubious title of world's ugliest dog 2010.The grey and white pooch - which has a curved back and legs (as well as a scrunched up left eye) won the annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest in Northern California.

2009
2001nana
2009 Winner was Pabst, a mix boxer mix owned by Miles Egstad . He ended the seven year reign held by the chinese crested breed.
I found Pabst to be the cutest winner of the past decade by far. 2009 must have presented a particularly weak field, because I find Pabst to be not just non-ugly, but rather cute.

2008
2001nana2008’s winner was also a Chinese Crested, Jeanenne Teed’s hairless, three-legged, one-eyed Gus.
Rascal, the 2002 World's Ugliest Dog and Ring of Champions holder, won the World's Oldest Ugly Dog Contest in Fort Bragg, California on August 30, 2008, making him the only dog to win both top titles.
On November 10, 2008, Gus died. He was 9 years old

2007
2007 World’s Ugliest Dog was Elwood, a Chinese crested chihuahua mixed-breed dog owned by KarenQuigleyhe .He who had placed second the previous year. Rascal, who won the 2002 title, became the Ugliest Dog on the West Coast. With the loss of Archie, Rascal and Elwood are the only two dogs alive to be "Ring of Champions" World's Ugliest Dogs

 2006

Scandal erupted during the 2006 World's Ugliest Dog Contest when an as yet unidentified person gained unauthorized electronic access to the contest's internet voting page and deleted 40,000 votes from then leader 'Pee Wee (Son of Sam)' and 30,000 votes from second-place dog 'Victoria', according to fair marketing director Vicki DeArmon. To rectify the situation, fair officials decided to completely restart internet voting on May 22, 2006. The official winner, Archie, was selected by a panel of judges on June 23, 2006. Archie died July 2008

2003-2005

Sam was a blind pure-bred Chinese Crested hairless dog, and three time champion of the annual Sonoma-Marin Fair World's Ugliest Dog Contest in Northern California in 2003–2005. His ugliness gained him international fame and celebrity – his death...just short of his 15th birthday
I personally think he's the ugliest of the ugliest because just the sight of him makes you think he is evil.
****Quotes from  LMNOP Blog
Sam is epic. Sam is everything. Sam looks like if an already ugly, Satan-possessed dog walked into a burning building and emerged, hours later, singed and somehow still alive, charged with new evil powers and ready to take over the world. No dog can ever be uglier than Sam, and it is no wonder this champ won for three straight years before his death in 2005. He blows the other competition away. There is no place your eyes can rest on his tiny body that doesn't ellicit sheer horror. Every time you look at him, you notice something new and disgusting: his brittle, mangled ears with their white wisps of hair; his blind, soul-deadening eyes; his feeble, ratlike tail; the wrinkled, liver-spotted skin; the teeth! The warts! I could go on. The one small mercy this dog was granted was an inability to see himself. That probably added years to his life.
Sam lived to the ripe (there's another good Sam adjective) age of 14, and I think we can all agree that his time on this earth was well spent. I'm glad the World's Ugliest Dog competition existed to give him his rightful recognition, and I only wish there were further stages of competition--Ugliest Animal, Ugliest Mammal, Ugliest Living Organism, Ugliest Anything--for him to have climbed through. I'm fairly certain he could have placed respectably at any level of competition.
Rest in peace, little guy. You were sooooo, soooooo ugly

2002
2001nanaThe 2002 winner and now a “Ring of Champions” holder is Rascal, owned by actor Dane Andrew.
The only living and competing Ugly dog to hold the coveted "Ring of Champions" title which makes him the current "World's Ugliest Dog".
Rascal is a very healthy 7.lb 8 years old pure bred Chinese Crested. We do NOT shave him; he is naturally and completely hairless except for his Mohawk and a little hair on his tail and feet. He is complete with ugly dog warts and freckles. Rascal has a lack of teeth, so he can keep his tongue in his mouth, and his face appears crooked at times.
2000, 20012001nana
The 2000 and 2001 competitions were won by Nana. While the owner never disclosed the breed, she would say that it was a “Canardly” as in “you can'ardly tell,” indicating it was most likely a mutt. Nana died later that year

LET"S THINK

I find this issue as some sort of  a 'brain twister'  .
I came across this on Atlas's fb account.

Personally I don't see the error of what's written in the dialogue balloons since there is a distinct difference between 'saksi' (witness) and 'bukti' (evidence).
However, putting the two scenes side to side may mislead readers into having the wrong perception.

PICTURE PERFECT- Bunga bunga cintaku

A picture paints a thousand word.
Yes...ain't that right
but then again as with everything.... beauties only lies in the eyes of the beholder.
Is there any such thing as picture perfect?
Yes ... if there is such a state as perfect.

What you see will never be what I saw...

So many claimed to have a good eye for taking a good picture... but it is really a subjective decision.

That said... I smiled.
Because as with everyone else..... I too have those eyes.

These are my bunga bunga shots I took this morning before sending dad to the airport.

Awww...... maybe you don't think so but I find them pleasing to my eyes.
.... then again thats probably because my passion extend to plants and flowers as well.
or....... you're just not one of us with that  'good' eye :)
PEACE

COMMENTS

The human tongue is a great blessing and if used properly can be a means to attaining great benefits and heights.
To misuse the tongue ( or fingers for this matter)  for meaningless talk and to destroy virtues is a great loss indeed.

Most people jumped to conclusion with what they 'sees' with the eyes.
Very few stop to ponder and reason with the mind as to the whys.

There are many ways to unleash the discontentment ,disagreement and dissapointment of a spur of the moment's event.
However ...making up something which is far from the truth usually...
... takes the cake.
.
Contented and satisfied we are when we finally let our mind overule our eyes, head and heart.
But the truth of the matter is, we have forgotten to perceived the consequenses of that moment's feeling.

...the cake have been served!.

..... one of the four things that can never be undone

Which actually leads me back to the story of the woman and the feathers.

Sometimes it's best to 'sit' and think maturely of the next steps instead of just 'blabbering wildly to the next willing ear.
A good way to judge a person is by 'listening' to what comes out of her mouth..... or fingers

May we all be blessed with wisdom in our thoughts, words and deeds to act with skillful means to the challenges that comes into our lives.

"But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." (Matthew 12:36-37)

BEAUTY IN TIME

Taking pictures is what photography is all about.
Capturing the beauty of the moments.
Taken specially for those special moments we want to cherish forever.

I have been taking photograps for as long as I can remember.
Actually it must have been when I first own a camera. Back in the early eighties.
Back then it was those cameras  using the  'hantu'  or flim .
With the 36 shots you get in one roll, it will be days before you're able to see what you have captured.
I'm saying that because , we don't 'waste' shots (12/24/36 was all you have).

With those lady's camera...most clicks would be just shots of occassions for remembrance.
Sending it to the kedai gambar would be a two day thing. It was such a 'jump' when they could develop them within an hour few years later. Now they even  have a ten minute service. Or better still you can....DIY

My passion for taking photos or vice versa has left me with uncountable 'moments' that passed through my life's journey.

My girls know I always walk around with a camera ...and not just the phone's camera in my bag.
...except for that one time we went to buy fish and there was this Justin Bieber's look alike...
Justin Bieber selling fish?...hahahaha
This would be a good example of the time you would say 'I wish I had my camera with me and I have taken a picture of him' ..just to let you see how much he does resemble Justin Bieber.  (I didn't look at his Supra shoes ...or was he just using salipar?)

I was weeding my bunga cempaka (I think) when I noticed that every pot was flowering.
Different range of pink colour.
I know I had a pot of white somewhere but it's missing now.
This was indeed another additional 'moment' to be sealed in pictures for all time and eternity.
.

 camera in my bag
I use this camera because I wanted to have a smaller compact camera that would allow me to not carry the large  DSL (plus whatever lens and other gadgets applicable to the needs )when walking around town.
With this I would just use the normal lens except occationally I would opt for the fish eye view.
Andrew said 'itu tak main la'...
I can't blame him.  He puts so much passion into photography.
Anyone who sees him with all his 'equipments'  would guess that is what he does for a living.

Unlike him, I don't really have the time and patience editing my photographs after the take.
So for now I'm satisfiy with using this camera for most of my shots.

Unlike Andrew's Nikon..this Canon gets to 'sleep' often
When passion not in motion
