I HELPED DELIVER THREE BABIES

sleeping early last night  ( - actually it wasn't really early 10.30pm) found me wide awake hours before my alarm rang.
I had fallen flat to lala land the moment my head hit the pillow last night. I'm so ashamed to say that should there be any intruder to the house....I won't know. I didn't even hear any dog barking at any time of the night  to morning.
phew!!!

The thought of getting back into bed when the alarm rang was quickly erased when Lydia asked for her cupcakes.
Aarrrr.... I haven't finished putting on the cream on the second batch I baked last night because they were still warm .
Anyhow ...I managed to do the extra five needed to fill the box in zippy time.
She only brought twenty-five pieces.

The brown Siamese finally gave birth

I knew she was about to deliver seeing she was so 'manja' for the past days.
Anyhow , she was one cat the doesn't have an easy delivery.  I didn't noticed how long her labour was until the first kitten was born. It was a long interval before the next one came.
On that note too, the mama cat only 'cleaned' the first kitten. The second kitten was delivered but left with the umbilical cord and placenta still attached.
The third one was halfway delivered and was hanging out while she walked around.
The last kitten was the smallest litter and delivered much later.
I did the cleaning and cutting of the cords for all three before giving them back to the mama  cat to nurse.
She delivered two male and two females.  Four in all. Two blacks one seal point Siamese and another brown Siamese like herself.
Beautiful litter but I have a very 'bad' feeling that mama is not so keen with them and seems to be very inexperience in handling them.
I was even a little worried that she might sleep on top of them .

I NEED MY CAKE!

I woke up this morning with a craving for cake.
making one was already planned but somehow doing this and that just kept me away from the kitchen.
Futhermore....I had forgotten to buy fresh eggs while on the way home from mile 4

ANGIE MADE NEWS

this is her online sunflower shop on fb.
We met online for more than two years before finally meeting each other in person at the end of last year. It is due to our excessive passions for sunflowers that we met in the first place.
I really didn't know there were so many of us around.
She said she started collecting somewhere around the year 2000. I probably started a year or two earlier but stopped after a couple of years when my then 'gang' started to loose interest .
I only restarted after finding Angie online and looking at her personal collection.
She had even started a group for sunflower collectors in 2010 back in the Philippines.
Going through their collections is what sparkled my interest back.

I go to bed with images of sunflowers on my mind

IT'S COCA......COLA

I got to hand it to those advertising people. The 'stuff' they came up with just baffled me sometimes.
I must say these are 'catchy'....  and understood only to other fellow Malaysian.
Probably that's the intended market here.

This set of fork and spoon was offered free with purchase of their bottled product.
I'm not exactly sure why the English word Together was doubled .A single word would have meant the same thing.  Anyhow I have not heard of them being used as one of them 'slang' before. My initially thought were they belongs to me and my girls only as they often used it when they were little.

Meanwhile these are some of the Malaysian 'slangs' that I've come across on the their tin product.

50 YEARS OF MISS MALAYSIA WORLD - 1963- 2013

Miss World Malaysia 1963 - 2013: Celebrating 50 years in the pageant

Interestingly browsing through the internet for pictures of the new Miss World I found this interesting video .I'm sure compiled and uploaded by a fellow Malaysian . Possibly done while rooting out for the beautiful Melinder on her journey in the recent Miss World competition.

SO YOUNG ....

I saw a posting on one of my friend's wall at around three in the afternoon regarding a plane crashed land in Kudat. It was a small plane ( 19seaters) belonged to MASwing.
I thought nothing much of it since from photographs shown, the plane seems to just made a rough landing.

They sighted no casualties but by nine pm...two were confirmed dead.
An elderly man and the young co pilot.

The image of the co pilot kept haunting me. He was so so very young. Just twenty two actually.
I found out later that he shared the same birthday as me...21st January. Just that he's years younger than me.
It's always a sad feeling when someone much younger than you should 'go' first.
I looked at him and think of his mother's feelings. The amount of grift she must be bearing. I can relate to that thoughts and feelings because he is around  Tisha's age.

He probably just graduated and just started working....as my Tisha would be when she turned twenty two next year.
The feeling of sadness just overwhelmed me further when I found out that he young man was the son of my childhood friend Heral.

YONA TURNED EIGHTEEN

It's another year gone and Yona is eighteen today. How the year had gone by so fast.

I'm feeling a little saddness as this is the first year that she is not home with me to celebrate her birthday....even if most times it would only be taking pictures of her blowing the candles on her cake.
This year ...there wasn't even a cake  :(

I woke up at four thirty this morning because my night nap turned into full sleep when my head hit the pillow at around eight oclock last night.

I don't forget anyone's birthdays ...so I knew Yona's was today since days ahead.
I wasn't planning on doing anything today except for quoting some nice words on her her fb page.

I have received Tisha's  gift sent via postlaju from Kuching  two days ago for mom to take back to Labuan after knowing that she and dad would be going there for Atlas's birthday . I  did bought Yona a pillow poodle for mom to take back too.

Browsing through old photo albums...awww.... I found her first few  photographs.
Awwww...holding her was my mum - her granny. She was eighteen years younger then.
It all seems like yesterday.
Awwwwwww.....I missed my baby!!!!!

I quoted this on your  18th birthday........

Every year your Birthday makes me just a little sad because I know that you'll have grown up one more year, gone away from me a little more and would have made more new friends to spend your time with.
But in my heart you will always stay. Even with hundred of miles apart my dear Yona ,  Mama wish you nothing more than a splendid Happy Birthday.
You're only young while you're young so don't hold back. Live your life fulfilled and satisfied.
Remember always to thank God our Father for all his blessings.
May all your dreams and aspiration for the future come true.

Tisha never missed with her drawings wishes. This was what she posted on Yona's fb timeline

Happy 18th Birthday to my lil sis, @lyeonnaamber! Today's a lucky day for you, not only because it’s your birthday, but also because you're both an adult and a teen. You may have responsibilities but then again, you can still have fun and go crazy like a kid. I wish you have a wonderful time today and hope you like the gifts I sent you. :)

My parents went to Labuan for my brother Atlas's birthday two days ago. I've asked mom to include Yona on the celebration BUT unfortunately she had some activities to attend to on that night.  However last night they did the family's cake cutting/ taking pictures celebration among themselves.

A day earlier as my parents had to leave for KK this morning. I took this shot from Atlas's posting.
Aarrrrr....I missed my baby!!!!

on a sad note on this day. MASwings plane crashed while trying to land in Kudat during strong wind at around 3pm. The 19 seaters  plane carrying 16 passengers crashed on a house . Two casualties and one more in critical condition.

PONDER

Many times I have pondered what determines the paths of life that we choose to follow. It seems to me that our vision of ourselves depends upon finding our gift to give to the world. We chart our individual destinies by making choices. We find the meaning and relevance of our lives.
Our lives belong to us and only we can adequately and ultimately determine what is right for us. Determining our fate is a huge task not to be taken lightly.
We only have one chance...one life...and we need to choose wisely. Yet, our choosing is a journey....not a destination.
