SINGAPORE DELIGHTS

My flight to KK was in the morning of the day we were to fly into Singapore. I have waited till the last minute to do my packing thus was in a rush to do it. I have set the alarm at 5am as I had planned to wash all the household laundries prior to the holiday trip.
As usual for the past month or so I have always begin the day by logging into the net to oversee 'my farms' before doing anything else.
Hhmm....what I have hope to be a five minutes 'excuse' become an hour 'detour' from my 'list of things to do before leaving' without ever realising it.

To cut the story short.... I found myself rushing at the last minute.. with mom already waiting by the doorsteps to send me to the airport.
I would have asked Andrew since he was on a week's leave but today was the exact day he was to take his medical review and therefore had left much earlier to beat the crowd at the general hospital .

I still had actually an hour of waiting before the final bording .
Another forty-five minutes of doing the same thing upon reaching KK as Atlas ( being his usual self I'm sure) took his sweet time coming down to take me from the airport.
We left our bags at the chek-in counter as we have no need to drag them along for the remaing of the day until our flight which was much later in the evening.

Our holiday offically starts with a heafty beefy breakfast at a shop at Api Api Centre Atlas recommended of which the name I have forgotten to note . I am very sure it as a very known place as it was really packed when we reached there.
Not suprised as the food was every bit well worth.

Atlas's order..

This was what I ordered... beef mee hoon

We went to Centre point to 'kill some time' as the thought of going home to Likas in the heat of the afternoon wasn't really appealing. While the evening and early morning temprature at the house were bearable, afternoons would be something like living in an oven.

I went on to change some Singapore currency while Atlas went to have his hair cut.
I eventually ended up sitting at Mc Donald's .... 'farming' while waiting for him .
We finally went home at around two pm . Leaving the car there and then persue to take the bus back to town. We wanted to try out catching one to the airport too.
Unfortunately we missed one just minutes earlier. Thou we could have waited for the next one but the heat of the day was getting to me and we eventually opt to get a cab.
We will try the bus the next time around since we already know how to do it.. :)

The two hour plus flight went well with us literlly sleeping all the way to Singapore.
June didn't come to get us at Changi airport but did sent her sons to do so instead .
I could spot them a mile away. Boy did they get 'bloated'.... honest....they did.... in a big way!
It took us almost an hour or so of bus ride before we reached her place.
I like the place where she stays. It is so different from mine. I don't mind staying someplace like that for a change. Everything seems so simple and 'easy'.

It was almost midnight by the time went down to the foot court and get some 'fillings'.
yeah... thats one reason why I like that place I guess. The 24/7 food court was just a glace away .
I'm pretty sure too that it's also one of the reason why her boys 'bloated' so much.

1Day in Singapore 22/7
City life as in everywhere won't start till mid day. Unfortunately 'kampung folks' like us are so used to waking up as early as 5am. Atlas practically said he got tired of waiting for the day to start. Can't blame him as I too would have felt the same if I didn't have 'my farms' to attend to in the meantime.
June took the day off (she got the 'flu' and was on medical leave... perfect timing).
Her boys had classes so were not able to join us.
We started the day with home breakfast. Yup... we ate mom's cooking. Ones that I had brought all the way from Sandakan. Her famed 'daging hitam' and 'ikan masin'.

Today's events was all the shopping complexes along the MRT routes. It was easy as we only need to get down at all the inter change stations. I didn't intent to shop but still ended up buying 'stuffs'.
Our mission today was Atlas's ......to look for Transformers toys! Yeah... there's still a boy in there.
What I noted this day was the food we tasted. Was so full from 'junks' that we didn't eat any 'real' meal.
This was what we bought along the way before having 2nd breakfast.
Signature pose ....with teh tarik

Before lunch.. one of my favourite...Subway's

Nothing beats this...Durian pan cakes. Tasted it two years back and now back for more.

How could you resist that... pure durian flesh...mmmmmm so yummy!

... and this?.... ice cream 'potong' ... so huge

2nd Day 23/7
June had to work today so we were on our own.
Left the house at around eleven together with Peter as he left for work around that time.
We had some breakfast at the back lane of the MRT station. Ate duck rice for Sing Dollar 1.50 which June says is cheap. It would be around the normal price in RM but quantity wise I know I could get much more back home.
1st stop was at science world

then ice city.

We met up with June around four before going shopping again at ochard road.
Me looking for second hand books while Atlas still with his transformers figurines.

Finally we took a cab to Peter's working place, the Steword's mississippi riverboat.
He 'treat' us with the most popular choices on the menu. The restaurant is located on a real docked riverboat off Marina Bay.
With the lights , the water....overlooking the city at night... hhmmm.. gives you that wonderful romantic feeling.

Wonderful Mexican food.

3rd day 24/7
A day spent in Sentosa....
the most 'fun' place in Singapore
Today was mom's 67th birhtday. By the time We called her it was already around 11pm. Not that we have forgotten but that was the time we finally reached home. Peter played the guitar while all of us sang her happy birthday .
It made her really really happy ...we were sure of that from the tone of her voice. We were right too. I found out much later that she even shed tears of joy for our jesture. Poor mom, she said she thought we've forgotten. I have never forgetten her birthday so far.

4thday - 25/7
Attending church service at Singapore's church before crossing over to JB at around three to beat the weekend crowd. It was still packed but we managed without so much of waiting in line. I got to seat on the bus but Atlas had to stand all the way.
Luckly... just a short ride thou the traffic jam made it 'feel' longer.
Stayed overnight at one of the budget hotel near the 'night food' alleys. I would have love to sample all the foods but too much of 'this and that' leaves me with no space by the time I finished walking the whole place.
We ended up at a cyber cafe not far from the hotel. I left after an hour as I needed to repack my bag inorder to get everything in ( yeah.. bought some sunflower collectables.... again!) . Atlas stayed longer.
Slept late although our flight to KL tomorrow was at 9.30am. and we needed to be at the airport around seven.
