FULL DAY

There is tremendous happiness in making others
happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness
when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things
you have that money can't buy.
'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The
Present .'

A very nice quote indeed. A much needed reminder everyday.

I woke up late again this morning despite knowing I have a 'date' with the water gun.
The fact that it's still school holidays and I just went to bed three hours ago.... yeah that was actually the main reason.
The napping time before the actual sleep does ruin my sleeping hours.
Anyhow ..I was 'fresh' even with just four hours sleep in all.

*********
made Lydia do a lot of my daily routine house work. She actually can do a good job with a little guidance.
As reward, we went out to have lunch at Kim Fung. ....plus ABC at 1Nation, Prima Square.(  A real ABC disappointment as they tasted like Sh*%^ )
Destination was actually for YumYum BUT...today they closed. Probably didn't know I was coming  :)

****
With a little 'push' I managed to 'shoot' a part of the back compound. With holes here and there, the water hose was a real pain to work with.
Must remind myself to get new ones.

IT'S A WORLD RECORD

Saturday 10th of August: The Grand Firework display

As every year, we all look forward to the display and wonder how it will look. The traditional Geneva Festival firework display takes us on a spellbinding journey for 55 minutes of magic and surprises.

Saturday 10 August 2013 at 10:00 pm marks the start of the much anticipated traditional firework display on the quaysides of Geneva harbour.

For the first time in Geneva, proceedings will be opened by the famous Portuguese company Grupo LUSO Pirotecnia de Almada with a journey through traditional and contemporary music characteristic of Portugal

The second part will be staged by the company Pyrostars de Genève on the theme “Conquests and Conquerors’’, presenting a voyage that will take us from the gates of the East and Alexander the Great to New Zealand, discovered by the English, via The Vikings, Genghis Khan, Marco Polo, Christopher Columbus and the great Portuguese conquistador Magellan.

The eagerly awaited culmination of the display will depict the conquest of space, from the first dirigibles to man’s unforgettable first steps on the moon.

The pyrotechnicians expect to present an unforgettable and surprising spectacle filled with enchantment and thrills lasting more than 55 minutes, which we’re sure will remain long in our memories.

While watching tonight news ..... (which was regarding the would be visibility of meteor shower in Malaysia ) I can't help but do a little research on the news I heard regarding  the new record for the world biggest fireworks display in Geneva............... which I'm sure was really a 'blast'

Raya Lagi

It's Monday ....but still another week before Lydia goes back to school.

I woke up almost eight...yup eight!
I felt asleep early last night and had gotten  up at three in the morning.
Getting back to sleep in the wee hours of the morning was bound to make you sleep late.
Anyhow, there wasn't anything on the 'list of things to do' ...so morning was still routine but with a delay in the time.
Invitation for Mar's Raya open house was at 1pm but we left the house around twelve thirty as I wanted to stopover at Wangi supermarket and get some cat's food there.

***Price for cutie cats was a little cheeper than Servey but still expensive compared to TKS. (TKS always runs out of stock because they are the cheapest) Anyhow I was getting a big bag therefore is was still the cheapest among all - RM155
**** to top the bag of cats biscuits, I went on to the wet market for 40kg of chicken heads

Met Jo and her forestry's staff friends at Mar's.

***found out that Sheryl was taking health foundation in order to get into veterinary.....in Australia!
I noticed that Jo had a little difficulty in blurring that to me. Nor did she wanted to talk much about Sheryl.  Makes me wonder when did she ever get interested to go into veterinary ...or did mom's the word here.

HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI 2013

One month of fasting for the Islamic faith and today it's Hari Raya .
It is in our Malaysian culture that Hari Raya is celebrated with an open house concept.
Anyhow, as with every year we would always vist only a single house on the first day of  Hari Raya...except for this year..we went on to a second house..

Yona came home for the week long holiday ...Atlas too.

Photo: Raya at Aisah's place
We had been going to this home for Hari Raya for almost twenty years.

Every year , we were their first guests

Delicious table spread of Malaysian food

The second house we went had the warm 'kampung' style of meal.
Although we were really 'full' from the previous house , out of respect for the owner's hard work preparing the spread, we comply with the invitation for lunch.

The very interesting dish offered. Tempoyak durian merah  and the  'I must say no to'  turtle eggs!

SMOKING THE OVEN

I had wanted to try this since like...... a hundred years ago..
Today I did it....and it's a success in a delicious way!

*****
-Went over to Kim Fung with Yona. She said she misses the place :/ seriously?

-Photocopied her  Cambell's reference book from her pen drive at a cost of RM100
-Had lunch at Sky
-Went to mile eight fresh market for doggie's food - 40kg of chicken heads

IT'S NOW TWENTY TWO

Love is not as simple
as candlelight and roses...
...love is day-to-day living,
taking time, making time to be there,
with open arms and a giving heart...
Love is the special life we share.

Happy Anniversary!

I posted this quote on my fb page and Andrew responded with.....

 Happy anniversary...hehe

now that's really funny.... then again is there some 'hidden meaning' that I'm not getting here? :)

LESS ONE MORE

I had made the dental appointment three weeks ago when I last went there with my sister Appy. That time I did two fillings but there was still another one that needs to be taken care of.

Doing my routine, I had kept reminding myself that the appointment was at 10am.
When I finally reached there ten minutes past ten, I was taken aback when the receptionist told me that my appointment was actually at 9am.
WHAT?...why then did I set that time in my head for the last three weeks?
'That's why la you all didn't issue me an appointment card'..I complained.
'Nobody called you to recomfirmed?'...she asked. H E L L O?????
Why are you asking me? Shouldn't that be your job?
Anyhow..there were two appointments ahead before she could 'slot' me in.
One didn't come so my wait wasn't that long.

My intention to save my tooth was not accomplished as the She Dentist said she could not guarantee that 'everything' will be well. She could try filling but incase there is an infection, I will need to come back tomorrow to extract it.
Oh ...I remembered what toothache pain is like. I had done one tooth filling years ago that resulted in a sleepless night. The pain only left  after extraction the next day.....12hrs of pure pain!

Goodbye tooth.....I will never see you again :(
Less one to brush

*******my intention to shop for a few provision after this appointment was put to halt
*******the fishman called
*******mom called to say that she would be driving to the hospital herself. She said she need to come back early tomorrow to get the house ready for Atlas and his gang.
