NO BRACE

I had discussed with Tisha that if she was serious about getting those teeth straighten she would need to 'drag' herself out of bed inorder to beat the crowd for an appointment at the hospital's dental clinic here.
Well.. today she finally did that even after going to bed only at three this morning.

It was already seven by the time we finally made it to the hospital.
Walking straight towards the room asif we have been there before.
Actually mom had made the enquiries for me prior to us going there.
".... pass the canteen, 3rd floor".. she had said.
True enough, we made it there only to find the office still closed.

It was still a long wait till eight oclock....which I assumed was when  their working hour starts.
The option to have something to eat was totally out since, it was her mouth that will need to be 'probe' later on.
Takut ada tinggal 'tai' gigi la.. :)
.....so we just sat there and waited.

I met an old school friend and I managed to make some enquires regarding what we were there for.
We were told that, they were only 'doing' for children there.... meaning those who were below 18 years old.
Anyone older would need to go 'downstrairs'... ( another building one kilometer away)
Aaarrrrrrrrrrr..........after we had waited for soooooooooo long...
And so we proceed on there.

Number  taken, card filled.....we again waited....luckly this time it was just a short wait.
Number called....( 7022..Bilik 8 )
We went in only to again be told that they were 'doing' braces for children ....again meaning those who were below 18 years old.
What?????????????
( thou she ..I'm sure out of courtsey said they will look at her teeth. To which she did.
Tisha opened her mouth and she looked at her teeth...literilly!!  it was done in less than one minute.

I can't help but made comments on how they handled the whole issue.
The lack of knowledge of their 'products' amongs the staff were so ovious.
It was rather unfair for the public to be made 'running' up and down when they start pointing fingers to where and what their department were offering.

And the nerve of her to tell me to go to a private clinic?..what was that ?
If I had wanted to go to a private clinic,  I would not have bother coming in the first place.

For all my time wasted I was not compensated ....yet still need to pay RM1 for the whole 'fuss' :)

My RM 1 receipt...luckly it's only that

Nothing done there...we proceed home but not before stopping at Bandar Kim Fung  for the much waited breakfast and importantly to dispatch Tisha's  application forms at the mini Pos office there.

My favourite breakfast set, Tisha's fingers and her Wan tan kui tiaw

Tisha wanted to go out for something cool to drink tonight.
So we ended up at Soo Sweet Cafe at bandar Indah Jaya.

I don't think I have taken photo of this side of the wall before....so I did

Haha..I chose the most expensive item on the list of ABC. Not only because I wanted to know how it tasted but also curious as to what behind it's name.

MAN GO CRAZE at RM7 turned out to be a spelling error?
It's shaved ice served with syrup, condensed milk and top up with pearl sago, sour droplets and  real mango cubes.
I asked the waitress as to why it was named as such, instead of answering me she laugh uncontrollably.
haa????.

END OF BOWL TIME?

I woke up aching all over....
that's just ten minutes bike riding yesterday.  What about a 5KM walk?
aarrrrr..........I have never let myself be out of form until now.
I guess this two weeks will be pay back time for me.

Tisha made the couch her bed again last night and therefore I can't take that short nap that I normally take when the girls are off to school.
Which inturn is a good thing also because I ended up in the kitchen baking bread instead.

Tisha said it was salty....or was it soury. I had smeared some spaghetti sauce on top for a bit of flavour.

'Ugly' looking but it tasted wonderful

I was about to sent in the girls's application forms for the Sports' excel competition to be held in Kota Kinabalu on the 15&16 July  tonight  but withdrew in the end when Andrew said against it

As I was already not in 'good terms' with their coach over some issues before , tonight just sort of 'seal' the deal when he made it compulsory for the girls to go for this competition.
In his own words...' compulsory or else.....
Those were strong words as I know for a fact that there are others who were not going.

I just couldn't understand the word compulsory as all cost of the trip and participation will be borne by each individual themselves.
What if we said we can't come up with the cash needed?
Was he , the club or the Bowling Alley going to sponser us?
so why is he saying compulsory? .
Does he think we print money?...
Everyone have thier own set of priorities as so with me.
Somehow this competition is just not on my top list.

Him uttering those words also translate 'you do as I said or I won't want you in the group'.. to my ears.
Knowing  they were not going to participate.....there were no words left needed to be said.

I have asked Bob to calculate on pro rata basis on how much I will need to settle all outstanding debts on their July fees as they won't be taking anymore classes after tonight.

He said not to take matter to heart but that was oviously just a deplomacy saying .
Yea... yea...that would be way easier said than done.

Let me 'cool off' for the time being and in time I'll deal with the other 'alternate' coach.
For now...it's definately the end.

HORREY ....FOR MY BLINK BLINK

When it comes to animals, I'm always hearts. It is no suprise tha I'm a member of many of the group that were listed online. SmartHeart Dog Malaysia  is one of them.

Recently they had requested for members to post in pictures of their dogs.
Though I have hundreds of my babies's pictures, I had only sent one. Namely, Blink Blink's.
Eventhough this particular picture of him was not personally taken by me, I was just as much 'excited' when it was chosen to be the current profile picture for SmartHeart Dog Malaysia.

The recent  photo of my adoreable Blinky taken by Andrew

One shot for remembrance when Blink Blink became the profile picture of SmartHeart Dog Malaysia on Facebook.

TRYING OUT WITH ME

I found that my usual recipe for the moist chocolate cake is rather too moist for converting into cup cakes when using the normal ( cheaper )paper cups.
Today I tried one that is much suitable .

The two ovens doesn't give the same results. The bigger one gives more heat thus resulting the cakes to crack

Results
These were made for Yona's school friends who didn't get to taste the ones I made for the sale the other day. Luckly  there were still lots of chocolate frosting left so I don't have to bother with that part.
Close up...all ready for the mouth

Another recipe that I tried was for this moist banana cake.
I have always been able to produce a good banana cake with my usual recipe but somehow this one I found online received such good rating reviews that I knew I had to try.
yea yea...the oven's heat need adjusting I know . It got too brown too fast and cracks a little before it was totally cooked.  Small adjustments to note.
I wanted to do the frosting but this girl was impatient and wanted to cut it the moment it was out of the oven.

Yes... I totally agree with all the good reviews it received. It is a cake well worth the effort .

Tastewise .....it was good too. Even without any frosting

Staying positive as possible

Depression is a time of feeling low and discouraged.

When you feel desperate and feel you're losing control of your life.
  • It is a space filled with darkness, fear, despair and panic.
  • Your thought world profoundly impacts your physical life.
  • You feel as if time is racing or you are moving in slow motion.
  • Your world and activities appear insurmountable and life can feel like a pit.
  • There are overwhelming feelings of isolation and you feel disconnected from others.
  • You feel trapped with no way to escape.
  • You hate yourself for feeling like this
The feelings of hate and anger were so strong and so deep.
Like a grey clouded day,
the emotions sets depriving sleep....
... right now all I can do is cry.

"...outside seems flawless for it is kept all inside"

MONDAY BLUE

I had wanted to bring Tisha to see the dentist this morning but somehow at the back of my mind, that would not happen as long as she in the dancing mood.  She was busy the whole day yesterday learning new steps with Yona before video taping it. I last saw her still busy editing the video clip  when I went in to bed last night.

She was supposed to sleep in my room  but even after my morning alarm rang, she never went in.
I found her lying on the couch sleeping soundly.
I didn't bother to ask what time she finally slept....I found out  later that she didn't sleep at all !

As monday is my offical day off... I made full use of that by being frustrated online.
The line was really really slow . I have not been able to log in my cafe since lastnight.
With that said, I know there'll be lots of spoilt food to show....aarrrr!!!!!!

Morning went on uneventful but late in the afternoon I had a visit from my mom's neighbour.
She had actually called months earlier regarding one of the pubs.
My mom had highly recommended her . Saying that she love dogs very much to the extend that she even talk to them as if they are her children.  She has two terrier plus a couple of bigger dogs .
Looking at her, I too knew that she's one of  those rare 'animal people'.... like myself :)

As much as I wanted to keep all the pubs, I know I can't.
I let her choose which one to take and she made a good choice of selecting Black Jack.
He was a timid one and being a 'big' male amongs the Alfa would soon be difficult once he comes to age.

She wanted to 'buy' him but I said no as he was not for sale. It's never about the money when it comes to my 'babies'.
I  let her compensate me for the vaccination fees though.
Monies which I could use for Blink Blink and the others' next vaccin shots.
I gave her his vaccination card and bid my baby farewell for the last time.
I can't say that I didn't feel sadness because I did .
So much so that  I even shred tears as I lingered on the thought that he won't be around tomorrow.
I know I made a bold decision. Everything  was to his advantage.
Still..I can't help myself and made her promise to return him should she can't love him anymore.

Black Jack

Another good news ( or bad?) was that Brandon call and said we have an oppening for friday the 22nd if we want it.
Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrr....can I make it?
Everyone think so but I have my doubts. It has been almost twenty years afterall.
With few sms between us, the date was set.
While finalising the necessary documentition, we realised that Yona identity card was missing.
Double Aaaarrrrrrrrrrr....... this is something serious.
That would be top priority after going to the bank tomorrow.

CUP CAKES ANYONE?

Yona had promised her classmates that we would be baking the cup cakes they will be selling at her school nature's club's  stall during the Larian 1Malaysia day.

She had wanted  varities of flavours but I settled with just two . Namely my ever popular raisins and soft moist chocolate.
I had finished baking the more than hundred cupcakes by late afternoon. ( the number dwindled with the help of Andrew, Tisha and Lydia by the time everything was ready )
The only mistake I made was not doing the chocolate frosting much earlier so much so that I ended up sleeping way past midnight just to complete the task. It was then too hot to use immediately.
I had gone out for dinner with Andrew and the girls and only came home around ten thirty prior starting the task..
Making matter worse, I had use the electric stove instead of the gas stove and that had made the cooking much longer.

With the frosting and icing  not done, I had no choice but to wake up early the next morning....(or was it the same day??? )
I must always  remind myself to do any frosting that need double boiling be done a day earlier .

Although it was a saturday, every student in  Malaysia were required to be in school.
This first time event ever held was compulsory for every student and school in the whole of Malaysia....thus the name larian 1Malaysia..... which in direct translation would mean..1Malaysia Run.

...every Malaysian running...get it?..well not everyone, just the students who are also running on every other Malaysian's like myself ( who's not running ) behalf.

It was just a short run within the school's own padang for Yona.
She claimed she won first place ( unfortunately with no prize to back that up) for the girls' section and came in amongs the top ten for both catogary.
I have no doubts on that claim as I know what she's capable of .(..it's all in the genes :) )

As for Lydia,I did not asked where her school  made them  run.
Her school is located on a hill top and there was really not much place to run around other than up and down the hill. That was what they probably did.
She came home not as a winner .Instead with  tears stained eyes and a hole on her pants.
She ripped the knee part of her pants when she slipped , fell and stepped on ( so she said) on the school's cement floor.
I didn't make a big fuss out of that because I know how it is with children and running around. Hundreds of them would mean out of control.
Furthermore she had only a small superfacial cut to show. Nothing new to her or me.
I can't say much for the pants though...

Getting Yona the cuppies was the easy part. The hard part was doing the selling.
I'm sure she was more of a by stander rather than the actual person selling them.
But according to her, everything was 'gone' within minutes.

With that said ,saw her club making a profit of around RM?????? ...I don't really know because I never calculated what I spent on the ingredients and everthing else on making them.
Doing something you love and seeing how much others appreciate them was rewarding enough for me.
As with other 'things', it has never been about the money.

I had even asked her to just donate the whole taking to the club since I know it won't be much.
But her teacher made her take just the percentage that was pre agreed upon.
i.e. 70/30%
She handed me RM59 for the 86 cuppies she brought to school.
(yea..that was all that was left after they were home 'attacked' )

All ready for the picking...selling cheaply at RM1 each
Chocolate fudge cupcakes iced with lemon butter frosting

Raisins cuppies with buttercream topping
All packed and ready
