RENEWAL

Mom had with the help of Tisha ( as she puts it) asked me to be her official videographer at her 'wedding'.
Yes, they're doing that church thingy again.
The last time tham mom had joined in the walk was way in 2005.  Unike the last time, this event was more on personal basis. She had  wanted to join in the event at the last minute since she didn't know wheather she would be here on the said date.
I bought their tickets for every fothnight since last year when Airasia had their ten sen tickets promotion.
Anyhow unlike the last time where all of my siblings ,my girls and their cousins were involved ( as MC,ushers and fower girls), this time it was really she and dad doing everything on their own.
We basically came as paid guests if not for the video taping and photographing part.

She had opted to wear the traditional kadazan costume instead of the traditional wedding gown.
This time around too it would only be me and Atlas of all her childrens that would be attending. A little sad if you remembered how eveyone came 'home' the last time .
this happy couple have been together for fifty three years

Instead of holding it in church as normaly done , this event would be held at Agnest Keith's Tea House .
A beautiful colonial style English setting ..right through the garden..

********The English Tea House and Restaurant is a much loved restaurant for locals and a popular tourist destination up on the hill along jalan Istana, with  great food, excellent service and beautiful views of much of the town.
One of Sandakan's well known tourist place of interest infact.
A place which I feel offer just the 'right' touch for an afternoon weeding....or renewal of wedding vows.

A BLIND WHITE RESCUE

Today is friday and a school day but it's only Lydia would be going to school.

Yona's school had held their sports days two days in a row before and as with each year the school would always give one day for everyone to reccuperate from the two hectic days before.
It was a holiday at school but it wasn't for her tuition classes.
Her tuition class only starts at twelve thirty so it was a good few hour for me to clean up the animal's mess plus giving them their morning meal before sending her off.

By eight thirty, I had given up hope that the maid was ever going to show up. Lately  not turning up for work have becom a habbit on her part .
I would had long time ago 'kick her ass' for makin it an objective matter to either come or not. But I respect the fact that she had worked for me for more than ten years and I know I can trust her to feed my animals when I need to be elsewhere.
Thanks to Jeff who helped me with most the work load for the times that she went AWOL.

Still wet after being given a bath

Totally white.. my one eye cat I named  Toufo

We had sent Yona for her class before proceeding to Kim Fung Market for some lunch.
It was when I walked to Tai Chung Supermarket that I saw this white cat sitting right at the edge of the market place.
My heart sank the moment my eyes laid on her. I could clearly see that she was missing an eye.
Dirty, pregnant and with serious mange on her ears.
My first conclusion to the situation was, she used to be someone's pet but was put out in the marketplace ( where food was easily available) because she had gotten herself into trouble plus either that mange problem was there in the first place or have gotten that from being a stray.

I went to shop at Tai Chung before meetin up with Jeff and upon informing him decided to extend our hands to help her.
It wasn't hard to catch her. She was very friendly......comfirmation that she was someone's pet before.

Once inside the cat it was a different story. Either she was not used to travelling or perhaps she thought she was going to be harmed.
She escaped once the car's door was open promptin me to fall and ran after.  She went by few neighbour's houses but luckly did not enter their compound . That would have been really hard to handled.

She was comfirmed pregnant by the vet and therefore could not be given any booster shots nor medical treatment for the manged ears. We were only given some cream to apply on her ears.

So many answers I wanted especially on how she'd lost her eye but it wouldn't matter much since it was healing well now. Than again if she only can speak we would have so many answers .

She had gone through so much pain that it's only fair I open my arms and home for her to be part of.

STARTING THE 'ENGINE'

I finally made the giant move.... of throwing away 'good' stuffs.
It's been months that I had packed and kept aside mountains of outgrown and unflavoured clothings. I had initally wanted to send them to the Red cross centre but the 'drive' to donate them to the Treasure House was highlighted at one of the online groups I'm in sounded so much better.

First to go was that bulky sofa that has been 'filling' my dining room for years. ..also the old tv rack that I actually wanted to keep in my room :(

IT'S A BIRTHDAY AGAIN

I had baked a cake last night knowing well that I won't have the time to do it today.
I would have even finished the whole process of icing and stuff if I had all the ingredients for the frosting itself then.
I did look for it...namely, cream cheese at Gentingmas mall when we went there earlier in the evening but to no avail.

Mom had asked me help her bank in some monies at Public Bank before I left for the airport . I went over half an hour earlier thinking that it would  give me ample time to get to the bank ,bank in the monies for her and also run across the road to Annie's cooking to get my cream cheese before going straight to the airport.
I had planned my trip well so that I would only need to pass the same road once.
Unfortunately, mom held me for more than the time I had  given allowance to with some upcoming up event at church. She would have gone longer if I did not excused myself  saying that Jeff could already be waiting a long time for me to pick him up from  the airport.
With that, I proceeded straight to the airport with the exception of stopping over at Fajar to reload Dad's phone .

Happy Birthday Jeff
We add on with two large pizza - thanks to Tisha introduction to online order cos we now have pizza for every occasion :)

WORLD HEALTH DAY

I share this article quoted from The Star Paper in conjuction of World Health Day
"Today is World Health Day. Good health adds life to years. What will you do to add life to yours? Here are some tips. Pick one share this with your friends!"

OK...will get to that

No need to say..this is what I love best

Eerrr....might consider

can't I just write?

 hehehe...tell it to my girl

Don't laugh...I do

I think this one should be in the top list.
Positive thinking brings inner peace, success, improved relationships, better health, happiness and satisfaction. It also helps the daily affairs of life move more smoothly, and makes life look bright and promising.
Are you willing to make a real inner change?
Are you willing to change the way you think?
Are you willing to develop a mental power that can positively affect you, your environment and the people around you?

And so it's said "Good health adds life to years. What are you willing to do to add life to yours?

A DOGGY DAY

I had woke up much earlier than the normal school's day that I beat the alarm's bell by about half an hour.
Lydia even asked wheather I slept at all last night when she caught me up and ironing her school uniform.
After all the 'routine' , It was a full lazy day today.
The actal work I say I did would only be to give the new dogs each a haircut.
Though they look so adorable with their long fur it was really not suitable for the weather we were having now. All day they would have their tounges out and panting crazy.

Waited for Yona to came home before taking the dogs to the Vet. Their clinic hours were at two but by the time we went there it was already three. I could have gone alone but Jeff insisted on coming along seeing that I can't handle two dogs at a time.
As it turns out, the dogs were good in the car. Except for a little drool from Gucci ,  both seems confirtable riding in the car.
It's ovious that they were used to this.

We made a new friend in  Remy who was there with his huge mastiff. The clinic was also very busy with lots of  people taking in sick cats.
We were second last in line therefore had the time to chat with Remy about our common dream to have a shelter for the strays in Sandakan one fine day.
The dogs were given some injections for their skin plus deworming. I then made appointments for them to be  neutered in the week ahead.

APRIL FOOL DOGS

GUCCI

KAYKAY

Can you just cast these two adorable dogs in two seconds?.

Pervious owners were young girls who'd grown tired of  their 'toys' .Now that they have grown out of their adorable puppy stage, they are branded as task to keep . Cast aside without the slightest thought of their feelings and attachments.

I came across GUCCI and KAYKAY  through AFU group on FB when they were advertised for adoption.
It didn't even cross my mind to want them actually. I have so many dogs of my own that it would be unthinkable to add more. I had said I could still foster cats but dogs are really a no no.

It was when Jo said that she wanted them that I finally open my big mouth of the intention to adopt. I had to ask on her behalf  as she was not in AFU anymore. Sheryl had seen the advertisment and had told her mom about wanting it...... to which she had agreed.

. By the time I made my offer, there were  hundreds of comments on the post and so many people had offered to adopt them . Unfortunately most of them were from KK and it's surrounding area which made it a little difficult to 'seal the deal'.  No local offer were made.
As it is a self collect deal , transportation was a big problem here. It is afterall a six hours drive from here to KK.

Either it was my reputation as an animal lover and excellent references by AFU group members or the fact that I was the only one staying in Sandakan making the offer, the dogs were given to me.

I went to collect them three days later with a promise of finding them good homes.
So much hair.....

And of course the girls were all smiles....

With Jo Changing her mind on keeping them adds up my list of things to do ...Aarrrrrrr!!!!!

I LOVE DOGS....so I don't really mind. I will keep them provided they can keep their mouth shut
